I wish I found one that I even liked. What should they do?

The ONLY agency that I have ever liked working for is, The Wellington Agency. They place in Florida, NY and MA. Ilyse and April are amazing.

NYC? Where's their office? What did you like about them?

I haven't worked with them but I have heard great things about The Wellington Agency as well. If I were still in the NE I'd definitely use them!

A few years ago after I graduated from Penn I worked as a nanny through Care Solutions on the Main Line in suburban Philly. Amazing agency that only places nannies with very wealthy and qualified families so that the nannies are taken care of properly.

What did they do to ensure that?

Check out their website.... http://www.thewellingtonagency.com/

I found that they are very friendly AND they get back to you quickly regarding questions, concerns, etc. They also ONLY send you on interviews for jobs that meet what you are looking for. I have worked with two other agencies who tried placing me with jobs that were far less hours then I was looking for, far less money that I was looking for, etc.

I guess by working exclusively with the main line. You have to be wealthy to live there. Plus, the agency charged each family a (fairly pricey) fee to hook them up with a nanny. That in and of itself probably told the agency of the families' financial limits.

Are you in DC now or still on the Main Line? I grew up in Gladwyne and have nannied in the area for 10+ years now. You are right about the families being wealthy, but they are also insane...

Pp I'm still on the main line! Most of my family is from Gladwyne you're right about the families being insane. I always like the more demanding people I've worked for came from old money for some reason (I think only money makes up the majority of the main line). Do they have a site like DCUM for our area?

Every agency does that. The agency that I work for charges the family 15% of the nannies yearly income.

There's nothing on the Main Line like this forum. Do you live in the city or the suburbs? It's such a small world, we probably know each other.

I am another poster who loves the Wellington Agency and working with April. It is a more upscale agency, meaning their clients are high end and pay very well. But of course the candidates that they accept are only the very best and most qualified. April is amazing getting back to you on any question or concern, and I'm speaking from the side of the candidate. I feel that's rare in a agency these days.
