Baby "Nurse" / Caregiver/ Mom's Helper services...anyone have experience? RSS feed

Hi!

I was looking into hiring some part-time morning/afternoon help for my one-month-old before I take the leap into the more permanent care pool and I have found two services, Tired Mom's Helper (Jen Benjamin) and Premier Homecare (an extension of a Jewish services organization). I am in Bethesda, MD.

Has anyone used these services or heard of them?

Thanks!

Haven't heard of them. Would you like to post an email in case someone has recommendations?

Haven't heard either of those. One service I know and feel comfortable recommending is MetroParentRelief. (I'm in Kensington.) Stacie Smith is the owner - she's a mom who had a preemie and ended up in this line of work as a result. She has a pool of roughly 80 caregivers to pull from on any given day and she's great to work with.

What does she charge and what do the caregivers earn?

Post here.

Some of the same caregivers can be found here without paying agency fees. If you do go with an agency- still check references yourself, insist on seeing the background check they say they've ran...

I worked through one agency listed on your post that never even checked my references or did a background check! Crazy.
