What is holiday pay, OP? In DC, most nannies either got the day off as a paid holiday, or worked per usual.

I'm off and paid the whole week. I'm in R.I. and it's February vacation. Both parents are teachers so they have the whole week off so I do too!

Paid day off. My contract was, by my own fault, ambiguous about this particular holiday, so I was expecting to go to work - it was a special treat when my MB told me Friday that she thought I should have it off.

I worked today. DB had to work and although MB's office was officially closed she had some projects she needed to finish up. She was in and out throughout the day running some errands in between working on the projects.

I was supposed to work, but I had surgery Thursday and had some complications so I had the day off. Both of my bosses were off so it ended up being no big deal.

I was off but I'm a live in and ended up doing some stuff around the house to help out since my boss is busy with other stuff today.

My MBs worked so I worked. Our banks and court houses were open today (odd I thought) but they were so my MBs had to be in office. It's written "all federal holidays" in my contract but I don't see the need to nitpick a day off when I know I'm needed.

I worked today, as expected per my contract. MB worked too. DB had the day off so I expected him to go golfing/surfing/hide out in his man cave like every other parent I've ever worked for. But he had all four kids ready for the day before I arrived. He took one for a daddy daughter date in the morning and another in the afternoon. i guess he had his daddy son date yesterday and he says him and the baby get plenty of one on one time in the middle of the night. He even filled up my gas tank when he was done using it! This is just one more reason to absolutely LOVE this family. They're the best!
