In our letter of agreement, she put this in writing:
We agree to a minimum of two weeks notice when either party wishes to terminate. If nanny gives parents more advanced notice, parents assure nanny continued employment, until said termination date.

If you had/have a wise MB, please share what she did/does.

OP here. Even though our agreement would not have been legally enforceable, over time this MB earned my complete trust. When I decided to move out of state, I gave her six weeks notice. She was ever so grateful, and I stayed on as long as I wanted.

Anyone else have a smart MB?

I have a brilliant MB but I don't know of anything particular to say she does. She talks to me daily. She thanks me weekly. She writes me lovely thank you cards when I give the kids gifts. She's just a nice person and that comes through in everything she does

Thanks, pp. Any more favorite MB wisdom?

I don't really have any particular examples but I love my MB! She is very intelligent, great with her child, a hardworker, and she respects and appreciates me!
