Sorry, but I've never stolen anything before. Are all you DC area nannies like this? My God, this is truly upsetting.

OP- I was just curious. So I took a roll of paper towels? Should I feel guilty about a roll of paper towels and a pen? My GOD! I should be flayed alive. Pay your nannies a decent wage.

I once took a tampon from MB's bathroom when my period came unexpectedly, but that's it..

Ok, girls, who wants to feed the troll next?

The only things I've ever taken were things I used at work - tampons, band-aids, food, hand lotion.

I was once a live in nanny overseas. The job was beyond horrible and I knew once I have notice I'd be out on the street. So I made a plan, bought ticket home 7000 miles away and on my day off left while everyone was out. MB was a lazy SAHM so it's not like I jeopardized her job, more like her day of lounging and shopping online. I stole a suitcase because I couldn't fit everything in my bag. It was the ugliest oldest one, so whatever.

I just commented this the other day under a post about a mother who thought her nanny was stealing.

Studies show most nannies DO steal. Most wont admit to it though. They usually don't steal large, expensive items for the most part it's little things like food, toilet paper, kitchen utensils, etc. Anything they think would go unnoticed.

This is the main reason I wouldn't hire someone to work in MY home.

That is a pitiful excuse. Thousands of people work for a not so ideal pay but they don't steal. It's called having 'morals'. If you want a decent paying job then get a degree and the qualifications to earn a decent wage. Were they paying you above min wage? If yes then you're over payed because you're a thief without conscious so your value is that of a high-school dropout.

I'm so glad I was raised with dignity and morals. I've found new cameras, new phones, etc and have ALWAYS returned them to lost and found or in one instance, security.

I took a ZipLock baggie once, to put my uneaten lunch in, but I replaced it later in the week when I had time to run to the store...
