We all think our kids/charges are the cutest, funniest smartest little things on earth. But if you're anything like me, our childless friends and family just don't get it. So what did your kiddos do today that made you laugh/smile/convince you they're a genius.
When I asked my 7 month old charge if she wanted milk (a sign I've been using with her for a few weeks), she grabbed the hand I was signing with and tried to suck it like a bottle. It was like she was trying to eat the word milk I'm so proud of her for starting to understand the signs!
My two year old charge somehow convinced her mother to text me after work just to check and make sure there wasn't too much traffic on my commute home - so thoughtful!
My five year old charge explained to me the life cycle of a painted lady butterfly in GREAT detail, complete with words such as proboscis and chrysalis. He is so smart about bugs!
And my seven year old charge lost the second of her two front top teeth. I didn't think it was possible for her to get more adorable, but she's so dang cute all toothless!

My 19 month old charge got glasses today, and while I am sad he has to deal w/ eye problems at such a young age, I think he is the most beautiful little boy in the world, specs and all.

Not today, but my 2 yr old charge likes to talk with big words and use them correctly. Like when asking her "Are you hungry? Do you want some pasta?" her saying "Yes. Actually, I want some soup".

I totally understand what you mean about friends caring less. I'm relatively young, I don't have many friends with children. I'll tell them stories, or show them pictures and they have to fake interest.

My 2.5-year-old charge was premature so she's delayed in many developmental areas. However, she can carry a tune like a pro. I swear, I think she is a musical savant. She loves music, and if I sing a song once she can carry the entire tune.

My 1-year-old charge is just brilliant, but a HANDFUL. They are about 16-months apart but I see the youngest surpassing her sister in some areas. She is 14-months-old and has a 30+ word vocabulary, and signs like a pro. She is just a very busy, and wild little girl. I pray for all her teachers in the future.

OP, do you have a kid? Just wondering because you mentioned your 'childless friends' yet your talking about your charge, not your kid. If you don't have a kid then you're the childless friend you speak of.

My charge gives me a hug on arrival in the morning. It's adorably sweet to be greeted by a 19 month old with a huge smile and hug. He also loves to give me a kiss and say "mwa" which sounds like meow, so darn cute. I love my little guy.

My 15 month old charge knows around 40 words and counts 1-4. He also has a baby shapes puzzle and if you empty the circle, oval, square, triangle, and rectangle, he will put all of the pieces back where they belong in less than a minute. He helps during clean up and knows which toys belong in which places.

I think by "childless" she meant people who don't have kids and therefore don't spend a lot of time around kids. OP may be childless as well but, let's be real. As a nanny I am sure she is spending more time with her charges than some people may spend with their own kids. (not necesarilly her MB and DB but there are people who spend less that [insert Op's work hrs per week] with their kid.)

My 5 month old charge is super cute. I love it when she's had a good nap, and starts kicking and squealing in her crib when she wakes up. Then, when I go to get her and pull back her crib curtains, she stares up and smiles at me. She's sooooooo adorable... I just hate that she has to CIO though before her naps though.

I swear i heard my 2 year old charge read a word the other day. We were watching a show that helps kids learn to read and phonics and stuff. She saw a B and started going bbb... bbbb...bbbb... before the character on the show mentioned the sound. the word was Bear and as soon as it popped on the screeen she yells out... BBBBBBBBBBEAAAARR BEAR!

It may have been a fluke but i am going to believe she read the word

My 2 charges fell asleep in the baby swings at the park while I pushed them. We had a great day playing outside in this weather today, and by the end they just conked out on the swings!

My 2 year old charge is the cutest little thing! He knows just what to say to make a woman blush! I got a new haircut and while walking to the park he ran his fingers through my hair and said "I love your hair"! He recently started using some full sentences and it totally melted my heart! Love him

My 4yr old twin charges finally started cleaning up their dishes after lunch! I was so excited to see them each walk to the si
