I'm off! Thank you NYSE for being closed. |
I'm off Monday. ![]() |
I'm working, and I couldn't be happier about it. The kids are off school which means we can go on a fun outing! |
I'm working. Hope they'll let me catch some inauguration coverage on TV.
I wouldn't care about working on MLk day, I was hoping to be off to watch some of the speeches and stuff. Its my first inauguration that I'm in the country for. |
Working! I'm excited to do a longer outing. One of my charges is in pm kindergarten and it makes day trips impossible. |
I'm off. It's awesome working for a teacher...so many more paid holidays. |
Off here. I'm off when the judge is off (and damn she's off a lot lol) |
I'm working. Not to upset about it, I don't really see MLK as a super important holiday that I really want off for. |
Off from one position but offered to help out for my other family since it is a single mom, has been behind on some work lately with one kid being home sick early last week. |
Working, 14 hour shift. |
I'm a pp from above. I'm also working for a teacher, I'm never off. She even had me work during the hurricane when she was off and got pissed when I asked to leave earlier. Not bitter or anything, I'm just surprised she doesn't wanna see her child for at least half that day. She usually complains that she never gets to see her kid, so it's weird to me that she drops him off for a full day when she's home. |
You don't know what she does or where she goes if she drops him off with you, 12:10. Stop being so judgmental. |
I am a nanny and very often my bosses will have me come into work even if they don't have to go into the office. They are great parents and they love to spend time with their child but sometimes it is just hard to be productive and get things done with a one year old running around. Sometimes they work from home, run errands, do things around the house, etc. They are never just home watching TV or doing something completely unimportant. Yes, sometimes I wish they would give me the day off when I know they are going to be home, but at the same time I understand why they need me to come in. |
She's just annoyed that she doesn't get a free paid day off so she's being nasty and passive aggressive about it. Guaranteed hours are an important perk to nannies so that they can reliably count on a certain income. Some nannies ruin it for others by angling for extra paid time off. This attitude that if aren't working then I should hit the jackpot and extra paid time off is not the intention of guaranteed hours. |
