appreciate the nanny RSS feed

I have been with my current family for 1.5 years and they are like my second family. I feel blessed every day to have them and I have never felt happier in a position. I absolutely love the family I work for (DB, MB and charges!), but sometimes I can't help but feel underappreciated. I love them so much that I go above and beyond my duties every single day. I usually feel rewarded for my hard work, but sometimes there are periods of time when I feel everything I do goes unnoticed. I think this is natural in the position that we are in, but it can hurt nonetheless. I just want to tell DBs and MBs how important it is to let your nanny know that everything she does for you is noticed and appreciated. I go above and beyond because I think that the family absolutely deserves it, they are great! I remember every single instance in which they give me an unexpected hug or loving words letting me know how much I mean to them. I urge you to leave your nanny notes or texts just to let her know how important she is to you. I can't tell you how much I love the little things parents do to make me feel valued. It gives me more pride and confidence in my work. I love my charges with all my heart and it's nice knowing that DB and MB realize this, trust me completely, and appreciate everything I do. I'm certainly not perfect, but I think I do a pretty damn good job every day and to be honest, I'd rather get a written card about how much I mean to the family with pictures of the kids than any gift.
