Nanny Pay Raise - what is common? RSS feed

What is the going rate (percentage) on raises this year for nannies in MoCo? We are approaching nanny's one year anniversary. We'd like to give her a raise that is consistent with other nannies in our area.

It also depends on how you started her salary. If you started low to mid range than 3%-5% if you started her at the high end of the market then no raise or 1%-2%. The other thing to factor in when you start raises is to think toward changes in the future. If you are expecting another child in the future this could warrant an increase but if you set a precedent for high raises even year and gave a bump for another child you will quickly end up a few dollars way over market for your nanny.

OP here. Thanks. No more children coming. She started mid-range and I had already figured out what 4% would be, so I guess I am right in the zone. Thanks for the confirmation.

No one is getting a 5% COL raise in this economy. A 3% raise would be generous, if she has been an exemplary employee.
