It's time people can leave negative reviews to some annoying parents

Care.come is all for the clients and not caregivers. I applied to a post to care for an elderly mother and got hired.
I came across some issues with the client like not being paid for extra hours also the environmental was horrendous client treated all her help like garbage and called us degrading names and other things. I wanted to report this to care .com but was not able to as I always got an “ oops something went wrong try back later “ tried many times but got the same response. Point is that I was unable to complain about iit. I reminded my boss Beto that I was still owed 13 hours pay and he said he’d look into it well he never did . While I was working there a previous caregiver came requesting to talk to my client regarding money owed to her. A month passed and I remind him again and again same response. Next thing I know I see my positón posted on care.com it was now obvious that they had no intention on paying me instead they were going to get rid of me. Anyways Beto now calls care.com and quite frankly I have no idea what he said to care that care suddenly flags my account and closest it .care said they weee going to “ investigate “ I don’t known what type of investigation they do when they just close your account and that’s it no explanation nothing this gives room for just anyone to make up stories or lies about you and you can’t even defend yourself. Iv been in this field for 30 years with a flawless reputation and never did I have an experience like this where you have no rights to tell your side of the story. Shame on Care.com |

I do not recommend care.com. It was very, very difficult to cancel our account and care.com kept charging us for 3 months after cancellation.
I was never able to meet anyone in person. |

I can honestly say Care.com is one of the biggest wastes of time I’ve ever subscribed to.
The vast majority of profiles on the platform appear to be inactive. You spend time carefully reaching out to potential candidates, only to hear nothing back. In my experience, the response rate is well under 5%, which makes the entire process incredibly frustrating and inefficient. For a paid service, the value simply isn’t there. You’re essentially paying for access to a database that is outdated and unresponsive. The platform does little to ensure engagement or accountability from caregivers, which defeats the purpose of using a service like this in the first place. I’ve had significantly better luck using community-based platforms like Nextdoor and local neighborhood groups, where people posting are actually active and interested in helping. The difference in responsiveness and quality is night and day. Bottom line: this platform is not worth what they charge. Save your time, save your money, and look elsewhere. |
