OP Here:

Are that many people really making over 35? I thought that was good when I accepted it, it's substantially more than my previous job.

I don't know anyone who pays less than $35 and these are all UMC. UHNW? You should be making closer to $60 if not more.

No not everyone is making $35 standard. Rates are way inflated on dcum,

UHNW means these people have a net worth of $10 million or more. If they can't or won't pay OP more than $35 an hour there's something seriously wrong with them.

Sorry, that’s definitely not the case.

A white dress?! That’s so impractical.

You don't think a family with a $10 million+ net worth should pay their nanny more than $60k a year?

$35/hour at 40 hours a week is over $70k a year. Add in OT and it will go up substantially. Are you confusing the hourly rate with the yearly salary?

I think there is a huge income range of folks who pay something in the range of $35 an hour. In other words people who make around mid 6 figures will pay this rate. And people who make 8 figures will pay this rate.

Just to be clear, we don't have to wear aprons, only the housekeepers do. And, for those asking I make $35/hr with decent benefits. I typically work 45-50 hours per week.

Not worth it.

What is there reason, or the consultant's?

A dress is very impractical if they expect you to really engage with the kids. Will they pay for cleaning?

OP again.

So with overtime, I will have made about 80k this year plus a subsidized health plan and, hopefully, a year end bonus. Based on searching job posts for similar jobs (with HNW and UHNW households), I've seen some salaries that are a little higher, but also a lot in that range and some even lower. Is it really that bad?

That being said, I'm actually kind of leaning toward just asking for a raise rather this year and learning to live with the uniform change.

A reason was never really communicated to me beyond that this is what they want to go with. The dress is machine washable, so there aren't really any extra cleaning costs.

No the rate isn’t bad. I assume the point people are making is that you could work in a lot more relaxed household for the same money. I can’t fathom asking my nanny to wear a uniform or treating her like “the help”. But you might prefer working in a household with full staff and an overall high end lifestyle
