Do not change date on check. Take check to bank it was written on and cash. I bet they don't have the funds in the bank. You are being screwed.

To issue a wrong check is Criminal. Call the State Attorney or file a criminal complaint.

Deposit the check through ATM if they have funds it will be cleared. If not then its a bad check. Which is a crime THEY wil go to jail. Instead of that they will pay you extra

No, if you use an ATM to deposit a personal check, if the person who wrote you the check had insufficient funds the check would still deposit into the addressee’s account.

However later they would have to pay a fee to the bank.
