Why do nannies require corporate benefits if they're not working a corporate job? RSS feed

Troll. This isn’t a physician or nanny employer. It’s the troll.

Seriously, no one is that stupid.

It's not skilled labor - there are no qualifications, certifications, or education requirements to be a nanny. So why do nannies require corporate benefits? I'm a nanny parent, a physician in private practice, and I don't even have the same benefits all these nannies are looking for. If I don't go to work, I don't make money. If I'm willing to work but there are no patients that need to be seen, I don't make money. I don't have guaranteed hours. No work? No paycheck. Nannies expect to be paid for 52 weeks of work in a year....there is no other industry where this is standard. Having a nanny is a luxury, but at the end of the day, it is unskilled labor.

Because they are taking care of your snowflakes and have to put up with moronic parents like you. Nannies, like yes hers, should be paid $100/,hr for each kid. FYI, I am not a nanny but feel sorry for them too many people, like you, do not value their very difficult and unappreciated, work.

Wow OP, your post clearly illustrates what a crappy parent you are.

I feel so sorry for your child(ren) having a parent who clearly resents having to fork out $$ for their care.

To call the person who loves, educates + cares for your child(ren) an unskilled laborer is ludicrous.
Without a Nanny - you would never have the good fortune of enjoying your privileged career.

You should have never had children if you resent paying for the best care that $$ can buy.
You should have adopted a pair of kittens.

That you are trying to cheap out on childcare is insane.
Isn’t your previous child worth every single red penny??

Wait until you get older > your child will find the cheapest caregiver because they won’t feel like you are worth wasting good money.

Try daycare. Those daycare teachers make so little it will make you happy.

Op will also need to pay for 52 weeks a year at daycare. Listen op if you don’t want to pay guaranteed hours, don’t expect Togo on holiday and come home to a nanny. You do you. You clearly don’t respect the profession so maybe just stay home and look after your own kid?

It’s ok

I make mid six figures annually. I can afford one, but that doesn’t mean I should be taken advantage of by diva nannies who think they deserve CEO benefits with a GED.

You clearly don’t pay enough if that’s the candidates you’re getting. FYI I’m a nanny in LA and I make between 100-120k a year with OT, which I’m sure you don’t want to pay either?

How do you not have guaranteed hours? And if you are scheduled to work but have no patients you don’t get paid? That doesn’t even make any sense.

Is six figures supposed to be impressive? That's only $100,000 at minimum. You need to earn a lot more to be able to afford a nanny. A nanny with the experience to back their rate can easily earn $85,000+.
