I cannot believe that some people on here actually believe that the parents did the right thing by giving their child this vaccine. As parents our no.#1 priority is to protect our children and do everything that we can do to keep them safe. No exceptions. Any parent who would subject an 8year old to a novel vaccine, one intended for those 4years and older is completely guilty of negligence tenfold. Like all vaccines, not just those manufactured for Covid, vaccines have a risk factor. To make a child get a vaccine when said child already has a major health issue is just irresponsible. A vaccine intended for a child four years of age older. These parents do not have the child’s best interest at heart. The child could be subject now to additional health issues the rest of her life because her parents could not wait an additional few months.
And yes, if someone is at ease lying to you about something as major as this, then they most definitely are more than capable of lying to you about anything else.

This entire situation is very toxic. The parents are not only incredibly dishonest, they think lying to get what they want is okay.
Even at the risk of their child’s livelihood. I would definitely not be comfortable working for people who 1.) feel it is acceptable to lie to the person who provides care to their child and 2.) feels breaking the law is acceptable.
To put a child’s health in such jeopardy shows their true colors.

**If you continue on with this job, knowing what you do, then do not be surprised later on when this family screws you over. It will happen I guarantee

Don’t listen to this person. They do not have a high risk child.

Why don’t you have a talk with the parent you are closest to?

Even if I had a high risk child, I could never expose them to a shot designed for a child much older.
The amount/dosage is just too much for a younger person.
Plus it would prove dangerous later on when I would need to re-vax my child for school.

I would have waited until the vaccine for 12 + under comes out because I would be so scared to expose my high risk child to this vaccine’s side effects.
But we all parent differently.

It’s ironic how people on this forum have a zero tolerance attitude regarding breaking the law when it comes to paying nannies under the table. People stress how it is breaking the law to not pay taxes thus it is unacceptable. Yet breaking the law to get a sick child a vaccine designated for older ages is acceptable as the parents are protecting their child.
Hopefully next Monday the FDA will approve the Pzizer vaccine and if that goes through, many physicians will likely prescribe it off-label. However I think they would be scared of being sued for liability issues

But you don’t so it’s all hypothetical to you.

By “people”, who are you referring to? Do you actually think posters are the same people and respond to every thread?

This is a risky move since when this child’s vaccination record needs proper updating later on, it will contain the wrong info.

Best to wait for the children’s vaccine.
To give it to a child so young (even if child has a special need) is a huge deal.

This is not a minor issue. To subject such a young child to an inoculation designed for a child four years older is surely putting the child’s health in jeopardy. What is especially concerning here is that the child has a pre-existing medical condition. This is no different than that person who was recently arrested for traveling with false vaccination papers. Or for those that purchase phony vaccine shot records.
I wouldn’t go as far to call CPS on these negligent parents, but I strongly advise to give your 2 week notice to them. They have unknowingly put you in the middle of something illegal.

It is only a matter of time before a vaccine for younger children will be available.

Shortly after that - schools will likely mandate that all students be vaccinated in order to attend school.

This child will need to meet the vaccine requirements in order to attend school so she will have to be vaccinated again.
I wouldn’t want to overvaccinate any child > most especially one with a health issue.

^^Pzizer will soon ask for approval for a children’s vaccine and could be approved by late October. It would be a vaccine for ages 5-11 and could be readily available to children by the end of the year. It likely will be among the required vaccines needed to attend school.

I am sure many kids under twelve have already received their Covid shot. Since school began in the fall, there have been many uneasy parents who have been terrified of the new Delta variant and have lied to get their kids inoculated. Especially those that have children with special health and medical issues. Any parent will do what is best to keep their kid out of harm’s way. Even if they have to lie or break a law. No one has any right to judge. We all just need to mind our own business and be the best parents we can possibly be and always stay consistent and present.
