This is not my experience as a nanny for high profile families. In my current position, my job is only the teaching and care of the older toddler. The housekeeper is the house manager and the chef handles all the grocery shopping. The parents have assistants for their errands. All of their friends have the same arrangements. I have a masters in Early Childhood Education and am well-paid.

There are high profile families who retain an individual who fulfills both nanny and household manager duties and are compensated well. It is not hard to find someone who is capable of doing both and it’s quite common.

It’s not common for high profile families until the kids are all in part-time school. Then the nanny can do car maintenance, research camps and everything else. Until the last kid is in camp, she doesn’t have time during her workday.
