NO YOU CANT. A nanny is an at will employee. Fire your nanny because you don’t want someone stupid who doesn’t believe in science helping raise your kids.

- a nanny who is vaccinated because I’m not stupid and actually care about the kids in my care

I would absolutely let her go. I would have no choice.

She no longer meets your family's needs, let her go.

MMkay. Filing suit is different than winning. They will lose.

Sorry, you will have to find a new job, Low Information, Plague Rat Nannies.

Not getting vaccinated is not a protected class. You won’t be sued.

My contract specifies length of notice/severance and conditions under which I can be fired without notice. It also specifies a year as the duration of the contract. I can't be fired within a year without notice and/or severance unless I do something egregious. Vaccinations aren't listed, and I'm sure they aren't for most people.

Most people that have gotten COVID-19 should get at least the first dose. Thus, the nanny should seek professional advice if she feels unsure or perhaps she has some medical concerns. If you love the nanny just share your thoughts and concerns again and have her meet you half way. There are a lot of folks that are not comfortable about getting the vaccine for several reasons, and is understandable.

The Judge threw out that lawsuit and slammed the plaintiff.

I know of two nannies who were let go because they wouldn’t get the covid vaccine and neither has been able to find another nanny job. One nanny started driving for Amazon. The other is still not working.

It’s just stupid to refuse a vaccine when you work with those who can’t be vaccinated yet.

You can't make her vaccinate but you can give her notice.

+1. I know of one nanny who refused to get vaccinated and she was fired. She’s tried for two months to get another nanny job and no one will hire her.

The new reality is that only vaccinated will be hired as nannies.

I guess there aren’t enough anti-vaxxer nanny families to go around.
