Good for you. Yeah it would take my stress level down to get the vaccine too. Fact is, not eligible. |
OP here.
I just made my first dose appt for tomorrow ![]() I e-mailed and asked what documentation I need to bring and was told I just needed ID. |
Virginia does check if you have an appointment. |
Good for you! Thanks for taking steps to stay safe and keep others safe! |
Nannies are not Frontline workers. While essential to some families, they are not essential to society in general. On the other hand, daycare workers are both essential to the functioning of society and Frontline workers. Due to the difference, every state has made daycare workers a priority, While nannies are only prioritized in states with extra vaccine. |
This is not immoral. I am a nanny and my MB and her Husband were So glad and relieved to know that I got the 1st shot already. Their kids and their family will be safe. What kind of person you are. Awful for sure |
NP, but wouldn't we ALL be relieved if got the first shot and knew we were safe? |
If you go back to when the pandemic first started, nannies who worked for employers where both parents worked outside the home was considered essential. |
Having the vaccine doesn’t stop you from possibly spreading covid. It just means that you’re not as likely to get covid, and if you do, it’s more likely to be a mild or asymptomatic case. |
To those families, yes. But plenty of essential workers aren’t currently eligible for the vaccine, because they’re not frontline workers. |
OP here,
Getting the first dose was easy. I had a 4:30 appointment so I arrived at 4:00. Parking was free and plentiful. There was plenty of room for social distancing and it didn't feel crowded at all. I had to show my appointment confirmation and ID at the door and then again right before i go the vaccine. After the injection they ask you to wait in a area for 15 min. it was quick and easy. Ignore the Troll. Sign up and get vaccinated. |
Great I’m happy for you op |
congrats! |
Where did you go to get the vaccine? |
There is a vaccination site on the Inova Fairfax campus. Don't just show up. Have an appointment. They will check your ID (drivers license etc) and a copy of the appt confirmation (you can just show your phone). I live in Fairfax County so I went through the county website. |
