I can't believe what some ppl spend on a car -- 40-50K! -- but won't spend for a professional to care for their children and pay them appropriately. We know where their priorities lie. |
Don’t even get me started on the people who drive $100,00 + cars and are stingy for childcare. OP: at least $25/h. |
$20-25hr |
$25/hr childcare only. No chores if hiring someone with a degree. |
$40K is the base cost of an SUV or decent family car now. A nanny is an unskilled profession and your value is what someone is willing not pay. You can demand minimum wage and anything above that is a bonus. |
At least they admit it: they value the car more than being a mom or the care their children receive. |
No it’s not. You can find a decent family car for less than that and you know it. A nanny is a skilled professional whose main job is providing care for children. That includes protecting and keeping children alive. You clearly don’t value your children or children in general. Don’t confuse a babysitter with a nanny. Your constant trolling is getting old btw. |
When I had 3 under 5, I only left my kids with the nanny or a family member. I didn’t hire a babysitter until they were all older. Now I pay $20 an hour. |
I remember my first teenage babysitter when I was 6, which meant my sister was 8 and my brother was 5.
My parents went out separately prior to that so that there was a parent at home. My mom had mah jongg Monday nights and Dad had Ski Club Thursday nights. Other than that we went out as a family. No way would my parents or I leave 3 under 5 in the care of a babysitter. |
