A mother's helper is a kid who is too young to babysit without a real adult. Those kids are in school, except for the summer.

It sounds as if you aren’t quite cut out to employ a traditional nanny OP. Perhaps you can find a college student who is distance learning and would be willing to act as your mother’s helper. I’d up your pay rate though to at least $16. With Target and other retailers paying $15/hour you need to compete with them financially, since working for you eliminates the benefit of having friends at work. |

Those kids are not going to be in school. Haven’t you heard? |
My sister just posted her care.com profile because she will be distance learning in college for the foreseeable future. She’d happily take $14. |
It sounds like they’ll be in brick and mortar part time, then doing zoom and other online work part time. Neither allows them to care for someone else’s kids. |
+1. What caught my eye re: your post was that you complained about mileage costs. If you are asking someone to drive her own vehicle - then it is only fair to provide them w/the current IRS rate per mile. Also, a Mother’s Helper is someone young who will assist you in caring for your child. You seem to be searching for a Nanny imo. |
^^ I don’t think a Mother’s Helper drives the kids anywhere.
Her job would be basically working alongside you. Together you are a team vs. her working independently. She usually has very little to no autonomy. She is like your right-hand girl/woman. |
