They were probably interviewing and keeping you as the back up plan. |
+1. Things like this always work out in your favor, OP. You’ll see, I promise you. Good luck! |
Texting you at 8PM the night before you're supposd to show up is pretty awful. I would be tempted to show up anyway, and pretend I didn't get the text. You must have house keys and such to return anyway, no? |
OP here. No. They never gave me a house key. They have a code entry for their door. I'm not wasting my time since I know they fired me. I think showing up will cause drama and I don't want that. |
Creepy....crazy... Nope...nope. |
I agree w/you OP that showing up to work today would be fruitless.
And shame on your employers for firing you so late! ![]() It was just dumb luck that you fell ill so early into the position. However if you are sick, you are sick & it is no one’s fault. Why should you be penalized for something that is entirely out of your control......??! How very unfair. Plus ALL families should have an emergency back-up childcare plan in place. It is THEIR responsibility. If they have not put together a Plan B then that is totally their fault! OP, be glad that you are seeing true colors now. And I wish you only the best w/your next family. |
Apply for unemployment. Some money coming in is better than nothing,! |
Sorry this happened OP sounds like a string of bad luck for everybody. Good luck in your job search and on to new pastures! |
OP sounds like this is a good thing for you. They sound horrible. Did you need to show up vomiting to prove it to them? Move on and don't put them on your resume. |
