Agree with PP.
It's boring watching kids doing that sort of thing. Believe it or not, she isn't paid to gush over your child's every move either.
She actually sounds pretty great. Respectful and engaged when it counts.

Grow up.

Another MB here- I think in all things with hiring caregivers, you should go with your gut as you are the mom. We don’t know the full story but, honestly, every time I’ve changed caregivers or school/activity situations because of a gut feeling like this and no other evidence, it has been the right choice. I’m a mom of 4 and have been dealing with these issues for years. You sound great. Good luck!

You’d be gone, for sure!

OP.

I suspect there is a lot more to this story and part of it is that she cannot stand you.

I’m sure as people like this don’t realize it’s them that is the common denominator. If you go through several sitters or nannies you need to just go ahead and either stay home or do daycare. Newsflash, that “gut feeling” is telling you that it’s you!

Some times kids wants to play with their selfs ( every child is different)
I am nanny I tell my new employer during my interview ( it’s lie and wrong if they think I am going to be engage with their child during my 8 hours shift )
They understand ( poor parents can’t engage with their children only few hours they just start screen time for them whenever they get home and nanny leave)
So they don’t deal with them .
I don’t think there is any issue with your nanny you are overthinking
