The baby is tiny. S/he won’t be able to use a treehouse for years, if the parents even allow little Snowflake to play in one. Also, you assume that the parents want a treehouse in their backyard, and that the nanny has the first clue of how to build one (I certainly don’t). This is honestly one of the weirdest suggestions I have ever seen on here.

If this was my position, I wouldn't "take initiative." I'm not the one refusing to be with the baby so if mom is fine with me on my phone or doing my own thing, I will.

Honestly, I probably would use part of the time for myself as well. However, I would use part to read articles and books, but that’s me.

I will echo that if you are being paid well and they are good people, stick with it a while longer. It will most likely not stay like this for long. If you find in a few more months that you are still bored, its time to move on.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me. She could even find some branches and plant material at MB's property to fashion furniture and baskets to decorate it with.
