It’s not too late, PP! Go to college. That said, I am a very happy nanny with a college degree.

I set aside one day each weekend where no one calls my name or needs me for anything.

Honestly just being able to complete a task start to finish without being interrupted twenty times is a luxury. I love my nanny kids, but it’s so nice not to have to stop every 30 seconds for someone to show me they’re drawing, have me kiss a boo-boo, complain about a sibling touching their stuff, ask me random questions, etc...so just being able to complete an entire task such as folding laundry or making dinner without losing track of where I was or what I was just thinking or doing is really nice right now.

I don't have to ask Who stinks? What are you doing? Why is everything sticky?

Sunday night, after a very peaceful and quiet weekend, I am ready to go back to singing, silly games, stinky diapers and those huge smiles.

I love being a nanny!

I’m pretty sure my college degree has not influenced my employers willingness to let me have control of their AC while I sit on the hard floor and play with their children...

On my days off I read books without pictures, eat meals without correcting anyone’s table manners, talk to adults without being interrupted, and refrain from asking anyone if they need to go potty.

Yes but your college degree gives you freedom and options. I’m not going to make $30/hr doing anything besides being a nanny without a degree. So I will continue to sit on the floor and melt. I used to like being a nanny but I’m realising I only like being a nanny for girls. I’m so tired of GI joe and army men.

You don’t need college to turn on the a/c for yourself.

But you are ALLOWED to find another family. You don’t have to settle for a crappy family.

I ate my whole lunch by myself today and used the bathroom alone. I didn’t answer one “what did?” Question.

No listening to whining or stomping. No searching the house for library books. Getting to pee in peace. Getting to drink more than a sip of water in peace.

I was off today and didn’t sing one song aloud or rhyming poem!
