2 hour nap. Ample time to wipe the table and counter, and put a few dishes in the sink or dishwasher. Anyone who can't handle that probably doesn't have what it takes to look after small children in the first place. |
"A regular nanny will do kids clean up, kids dishes and meal prep, kids laundry"
Nope. No meal prep or laundry. Yes - dishes, toys, highchairs. Meals are prepared by parents and laundry is not a nanny's job. She is not a housekeeper. |
Instead of generalizing, maybe you should talk about your own children experience? My children are perfectly fine and adjust well to changes. I was working from home and they gave the nanny zero trouble, and there were sleeping 2.5 hours nap a day, tell me how many family who manage to have their kids have a sound 2.5 hours nap at the same time every freaking day? And maybe your kids have issue adjusting to little changes because your are afraid of everything? In any case for other readers, I was pretty clear about my expectation in my thread, I didn't need someone to make the kids lunches (we made it in advance), not someone to vacuum or clean our house (we have weekly cleaning service for that) and I do laundry and the rest. But yeah she should put the plates in the dishwasher, wipe the high chair. That is not too much to ask. And to the nanny who talk about 18 months old putting their own dish in the dishwasher, seriously get a new job, you don't like kids! Next time I need backup service, I will know what to look for. Thanks everyone! |
