Cleaning and childcare are not related.
Yes, both jobs take place in a private home but that is where the similarities stop! Expecting your Nanny to clean just because she has time to “lean” is the most outrageous thing I have ever heard of. And the dumbest too. |
You posted at 2:48 pm, while you are at work, does your boss pay you to post on DCUM. Hypocrite. |
Truthfully. I am now doing a blue collar job. I expect more. |
I wonder how your employer feels about you surfing Nanny websites at 2:48 in the afternoon hypocrite?? |
I don't have a blue collar job? |
| Why do the insufferable snobs and snots call their nannies blue collar workers which infers they have no skills and yet you entrust your most precious possession to "uneducated and unskilled" trash. You are all a$$holes. I hope all of your nannies read this thread, quit, and you have to take care of your little snowflakes and clean up after them. |

Don't hire a nanny from a country where unemployment runs high and/or they have a large extended family there.
They tend to chit-chat the whole time while in the park, I've never even seen sale people on the phones as often as nannies, younger nannies. |
1. The field of nannies has no certificates from a non-profit organization 2. Anyone can become a nanny, simply by 'stating' it! No barrier of entry. |
| I have never seen young or old nannies NOT on their phones. Their eyes are never on the kids. The baby in that stroller could have a bee on his face and the nanny would not notice. |
You didn’t actually answer the question. If that’s how you feel, why would you leave you’re precious snowflake with a nanny? Why not stay at home since you are the most qualified? |
|
You’re probably not going to get an answer to your questions, and here’s why. That stuck up coward would either have to admit that they’re a terrible parent for having an apparently unskilled person care for their child, which they wouldn’t do, OR they’d have to admit that there is a greater value in having a nanny they can trust and is good at what they do, which I really don’t think they’re going to do. If they have children, they know caring for them is not easy! Not just “anyone” can do it. “Anyone” can have kids, but that doesn’t necessarily make them at all qualified to provide the best care for a child. That goes triple for haughty pieces of garbage like the one you quoted. |
You have never seen our nanny! She is never on or even near her phone! We bought her an Apple Watch just to call 911 in an emergency or respond to us. That said, our nanny is older and white as well as American. Everyone thinks she is my kid’s grandmother. I am always curious as to how onlookers can generalize “all nannies” when the observer has no clue who is a nanny and who is the mother/grandmother. |
I’m not sure how you know who is a nanny and who’s not. Also, I was a nanny and actually I was afraid of being judged so I never looked at my phone while out in public with my charge. I played and interacted with him while at the park and such. |
