Nanny for summer - what's reasonable to pay?

Agreed. Teachers could make a lot more tutoring. I wouldn't do it for $18/hr.

How exactly do you live on that in this area? Sleep on a friend's couch?

Second grade teacher in north arlington.

Tutoring is $40-50 an hour. Not many teachers can line up 10 tutoring sessions a week all summer.
