I’ve never gotten so many rejections before. Multiple non-connections but then rejections after we’ve emailed a few times and they’re still on the site. No idea what’s going on. No one has asked about perks.

Yes, PP, there are a lot of APs, but the quality ones are in demand and have their pick.

The ignoring the connection request is the worst. Just tell me no already so I can just move on...

This is why I am trying a second agency this time in addition to CCAP.

We have 2 right now who connected with us quickly but then failed to respond to inquiries for an interview. One has never responded and one was enthusiastic in the beginning and agreed to interview on Saturday, but then failed to respond to subsequent inquiries to set up a time. I assume we are being held as a “back up” connection in case their choice family or families do not work out. The more days that go by without a response, the less I am interested in interviewing either candidate. How hard is it to send an email saying that you are interviewing a family, but if it doesn’t work out you would really like to interview, or something similar? Doesn’t anyone teach these girls basic manners?

Also, I hate the way CCAP has set it up. When a candidate declines my connection I don't know unless I go through the site and click on three pages until I get to the connections page, where I find out they have declined. This also happens even after you've been talking to an AP. So there was one I really liked who ghosted, and after three days I finally thought to look and sure enough she'd declined because she'd matched with another family. Shouldn't CCAP email us when there's any status update in a connection? So frustrating.

Yes, CCAP should definitely autogenerate an email to families for declined connections, as well as approved connections. Such a no-brainer. (Are you listening, CCAP?)

To the other PP, I'd say if you don't hear from them in a few days, cut them loose. It's a pretty clear sign they're not really interested.

CCAP needs to get their act together. I was ghosted so many times this year, and the ones that I did have ongoing contact with were so awful. The headquarters absolutely was unresponsive and gave us lip service, and basically suggested I do all the things I was doing anyway. I found a great au pair through APIA.

Could you please describe the matching process? Any improvement in the candidates pool? The sentiment has been that in the last few years, APIA has had substantially smaller number of candidates than CC.

The APIA pool was much smaller, that is correct. However, I found the LCC at APIA to be much more proactive, and the candidates to be more responsive to me. I can only speak based on my own experiences---and this year, who knows what will happen.

I am glad you were able to find a good candidate quickly. I will definitely register with APIA. But I assume that as long as CC remains the one with the most candidates, they will keep ignoring HF's needs. Simply because they can.

YMMV.

My APIA LCC was simply awful and unhelpful and the pool is tiny.
