Point is that you don’t need to say “dedicated.” You are asking for trouble. As above, just say car available for personal use.

Sharing does not equal dedicated, but if you have a third car that you don't drive, you have a dedicated AP car with limits. We had such a car but with limits on distance and DC driving. We reimbursed gas related to the kids' activities but did not pay for her personal gas.

How do you determine personal vs. kids? No judgment: just asking because I couldn’t figure out how to do that as kid is not in school and au pair takes him on trips to park, etc.

An AP dedicated car is never used by anyone else. It may or may not be filled with gas by HP, although any mileage with kids should have gas filled by family.

Your situation would more accurately be described as almost full use of second car (use your percentage, if you’re sure it’s accurate; if not, stick to almost) and all gas paid by HP; permission required to drive over x miles from home.

I was an au pair in DC many years ago. I had the 2nd car during the week and on weekends in the evenings. Weekends during the day they used it. I was fine with this set up.
I would say you have a 2nd car they can use and explain the situation. I would not say its a dedicated au pair car.
