Op here !!
MB did not take it well. She was surprised and obviously is in a rut to find a replacement. I offered giving her my friends number because she’s in need of full time work, but she ignored me. MB said “I can’t keep you from going, I’m just surprised.” I apologized many times and honestly I feel so bad and embarrassed that I had to do this :/ but I couldn’t pass up this job offer |
| Don't worry about it OP, you have to do what's right for you and your future. If this is a better opportunity she should support you for accepting it. Hopefully can you end things on good terms and still be able to use her as a reference. Maybe she will act differently in the coming days once she gets over the shock of the news. Very nice of you to offer your friend to cover when you leave. Good luck in the new job! |
|
She'll get over it. The hard part is over for you.
Congrats and enjoy your new job! |
| Thank you all. I think she got over it because as I was leaving today she asked if I would be willing to do babysitting gigs to which I said yes. Extra money for me and I’ll get to see the kids! At my new job it’s typical 8 hours shifts with a 30 min break as oppose to my long days rn, so I would definitely be happy to babysit if needed |

How long did you work for her OP?
Just curious.... |
|
I guess the OP doesn’t want to disclose her term of employment with us because it will make her look really really bad.
That’s fine. |
Two weeks is standard. OP is fine. And it is great she will get to see her charges. |
All’s wee that ends well, OP. Good luck! |
Only 8 months |
