Employer is sloppy RSS feed

My family is messy too. I call them out on it though...but not everyone has that type of relationship with their employer. Also, calling them out on it doesn't change anything. I either put their stuff away...even if it's just tossing everything into a closet or mudroom, or leave it where they left it, depending on the day and my mood. It's a quirk and nothing more. I actually prefer that over people who are total neat freaks. Those people make me uncomfortable and anxious.

I cannot stand working in filthy, dirty homes but a messy one could be okay.
Plus since one or more children live there, trust me....
At some point it WILL be messy.

I hate dirty carpets + floors, overfilled diaper bins (and trash cans!), uncleared bathrooms plus dirty clothes on the floor.

I also get grossed out by dirty tissues or wipes just sitting around & filthy sinks, refrigerators and ranges.
And like most people, crusty dirty dishes/pans in the sink stress me out.

But messiness in general I can bear.
Kids books, toys, puzzles, etc. all scattered on the floor I just pick up.
And their clean laundry in a laundry basket I just fold.

Exactly! Like I don’t mind if your coat or shoes are hanging around...but please clean your toilet. It’s full of pee and sh*t.

Don't make your employers feel this way in their own home. Either live with it or tidy it yourself.

No. Your house is the Nanny's "office" and it should be just as clean as the office you go to everyday. If you came in and found trash, clothes thrown all over the place and if the bathrooms and kitchens were filthy you would never clean them. If you are filthy, send your kid to daycare.

I keep my house in the same condition I keep my office. It is not disgusting, but there are papers and open books around. Sometimes my purse is hung up, but sometimes it is just sitting on the floor. It wouldn’t be unusual for me to have my winter coat hanging over the back of my office chair.

There’s a difference between being messy and being just disgusting and dirty. Shoes and coats out? No biggie, just grab them and put them in the closet. That’s what I do. Baby crawls and puts everything in his mouth so I always just put shoes in the foyer closet. My employers always leave the kitchen dirty, toilets, trash never taken out. But that’s really not my problem. Don’t over react OP. just put the shoes away if they really bother you, if not then mind your business
