Horrible woman and a horrible family for expecting someone would accept this.

I don’t know when they would even have time to see their own kids. Like a pp said, why the hell even have the kids if you’re not going to parent them? And five at that! Jeez.

Oh, it’s even worse than that! 7.30 am to 8 pm is 12.5 hours, but the nanny gets an unpaid 30 minute lunch each day...

I love that the lunch break is unpaid! Is that even legal?

Unfortunately, it is technically legal in MD but in MD you also get a 15 min break for every 4 hours you work and 30 min for every 8 hours. I believe the 15 min breaks are suppose to be paid but the 30 min doesn’t have to be.

In that case, if I’m on break or lunch, I can go read outside and ignore the kids, right

She is mad. Thank you to ALL the parents that are paying their nanny well and not taking advantage of them. We really appreciate you. How do you want your nanny to have 15+years of experience and a education and pay her below $20. That is carzy to me. The funny thing is most parents that don't pay well are the one that ask for so much. Like take a 30min lunch break, speak another language, have a car, must drive, housekeeping. If you can't afford to pay your nanny well, stay home with your children or down size, or dont have that many children. What a joke this family is.

Op, you sound crazy!! This package sucks but I’m sure you will find some desperate person to fulfill the job. People are cruel!

What does the nanny do with the 6 month old during her unpaid lunch break? Is there a lunch break nanny who comes for 30 min a day?

Right! Who actually applies to positions like this smh

I would love to hear from parents who would offer this as a job. Like what is seriously going through your mind? How do you justify this as a good position?

They probably want someone illegal who is desperate for work. There will be someone who needs that job and probably takes it.

Opportunity for GROWTH.....???!!
How can one “grow” w/this position??

This sounds like a smokescreen to me.

The rate they are offering is low for childcare ONLY.
To ask housekeeping, laundry duties + driving is too unreasonable.

But you know what makes me sad about all of this?
That there is a chance that whoever accepts this position will likely be someone not fit to be around children and this breaks my heart.

I'm hoping you are kidding, OP.

Too much work, too little pay. No sane person will accept the job and if you find someone, they won't last long.

This was probably posted by a nanny. It's not illegal because they're paying above minimum wage. I worked for $10 per hour all throughout my 20s in the Midwest. I'm sure they will find plenty of nannies but definitely none who will have taxes taken off. This is an under the table job clearly.

It was posted by me, I'm a nanny. I just found it funny and crazy, that a Parent would ask for this much with little pay. The job was posted on Craigslist dc. She also said W2, so I guess the pay is not under the table. By the way I already have a job that pays me well $60+. But was looking for a friend. And I thought this offer was mad.

This isn't a real job this person is kidding. Because said person who wrote this could never do all the things he/she is asking someone to do. Maybe a donkey would do it and ran over he/she the children and messes up the whole house as well. Stupid people. Why don't you try doing it yourself for a day then rewrite the add....fool.

There are a slew of people that think that what we do is the easiest thing in the world and we should do it for peanuts. Yet they couldn't manage to do it, not to the same level, not even with their own children.
