| I am having the same problems. I have been looking since last year and I am having a hard time finding a job too. Many jobs are out there but the families expect you to work for next to nothing. These people say how much they love their children and so particular in selecting the perfect childcare provider yet they want you to care for their children for nothing. As if you don't have to live, eat, drink, needs a shelter and everything else like them. |
| Cheap families get what they pay for. Excellent childcare is never a bargain. Never. |
Exactly. Op is a troll who can't afford a nanny. |
| Come to LA. Even the illegals here make $25/hr |
Is Westside Nannies still one of the best agencies? Any others? Thank you! |
Is this what your girlfriends are telling you? Is actually on the low end. |
| OP here, no I am not a troll. I started my current job at $22/hr and my nanny family gave me a $1 raise each year for 3 years. They're not a high profile family, but they're fairly wealthy so maybe I just got lucky. Anyway, thanks everyone for your responses! I never thought to look into a nanny share! |

OP, our current nanny makes $25/hour for our two kids. She's been with us for almost four years, so she's gotten raises over the years to get to $25. She doesn't have a college education, but had lots of nanny experience.
We are moving and she is also having a hard time finding another job at that rate. Perhaps COL increases would mean she'd start off making more than she did with us, but I think the nature of nanny jobs is that you often take a step back every time you start with a new family. |
The Help Agency in Brentwood is great. |

Jeez, I have early childhood education under my belt and I wish I could make that much! Lol
Sounds like you may have to lower your standards a bit, though, seriously. Making $19-$20 an hour doesn’t sound too shabby. |
[/b] Help company is actually terrible, rude and rarely return phone calls. Elizabeth rose is also rude but at least they call you back! I recommend westside and educated nannies. |
