Totally agree with you. I employ a nanny for our twins. I have never paid $22/hr (though I certainly could have) and we have had numerous highly qualified applicants from whom we chose nannies who were great. No one is well served by a judgmental blanket statement. |
+1. Jobs and Careers forum will be full of people debating pay vs work life balance, taking less interesting roles to get away from terrible bosses, etc etc. If money was all anyone cared about we'd all be investment bankers. |
Check your comprehension. "Equal" does not necessarily mean "the same." I said "equal". |
Please enlighten us by describing two jobs that are completely different yet completely equal. |
If you had a clue, you'd know your answer would be different for each individual person. Stop trying to stuff people into your cookie cutter mold. Shame on you. |
| I actually chose a position with less pay but better overall conditions. I preferred a shorter commute, three kids instead of one, more flexible parents who can arrange cover for me, and an overall nicer vibe in the household. I'm there 4 days a week and 1 day a week at the position that I declined full-time for, and I couldn't have made a better decision. |
I'd expect every professional nanny to evaluate the complete picture of each job, and not limit herself to one insignificant part of it. Actually, that's basic common sense. |
