Yes, the families should ask how you are doing out of common, sincere courtesy.
I mean you are not some programmed robot who cares for their children.....

There is also some heart involved too.
They are being selfish by only thinking about themselves over how your condition is.

This just shows how they view you as a person.
And it is not favorable by any means.
