+ 2 --- Think of this everytime a parent on this forum claims to pay the nanny well, but of course neglects to say how much.

No one dares to ask what the going rate is here either. Some topics are best avoided in this forum. |
Did this nanny work 30 hours or 50 hours? . She could have been paid $12/hr or $20. I doubt anyone experienced would have taken $12 for twins. $15-20 I could see. The article does not say. Some moms need more than 40 hours of coverage to do their jobs, due to commute. I used to need 50. Other moms with nannies only needed 30, with staggered schedules with their spouses. So I reserve judgment on whether the nanny was underpaid. The author sounds really tiring of a boss though. In her heart, she wants to be a SAHM. She should have. But that phase will pass. A lototal of first time moms have this guilt and resentment and mixed feelings when they first put their baby with a nanny or at daycare. Then those feelings pass. |

This is an article from the same mom author, 2 years later.

| That woman is a nightmare. Never mind that she doesn't pay her DC-area nanny very well, she's a total psychopath. Who reads the shit that she writes? |
