OP here. Thank you (almost) everyone. I will go to Urgent Care tomorrow and see about getting a prescription to quiet the cough at night. This lack of sleep is killing me.
Were you checked for pertussis? A friend of mine got it last year, and her symptoms were similar. No whooping, but such exhaustion.
Hope you are getting some rest this weekend, OP. I am just getting over bronchitis and it is miserable and takes forever!
It could be pneumonia (hope not but safe to check for that). You should go back to get some more labs of spit and chest scan done. And definetly should take a few days off. have employers reach out to an agency for backup care.

Pneumonia may be a possibility.
I would request a chest x-ray from your M.D. Also, get a prescription cough medicine if possible. They are much more effective than otc. I second the sleep w/a humidifier @night suggestion. If you do not have one, perhaps your bosses have one you can borrow until your coughing subsides. Lots of liquids + rest as well. And napping while the child naps may also be very beneficial for your recovery. I cannot imagine any employer having any issue w/it as long as you are near the child or baby monitor. And especially since their child actually made you sick. Get well soon OP!! |
