Nanny family eating/drinking food?

In my house, the fridge gets way too full to give the nanny a designated shelf or bin. She needs to mark each item as she tosses it in there. Also, you may think DB is watching you put your stuff away, but he may not be paying attention to details such as what brands you buy. I don't know many men who tune into that sort of thing.

Our nanny gets a dedicated bin, but one time she left some of her iced tea in the other part of the fridge, and I drank some of it thinking it was mine (we had both drank the same brand as I had bought us some). It wasn't a big deal. I apologized. I frequently buy my nanny coffee at Starbucks or lunch (carry out) so we're pretty relaxed about sharing food, etc.

It is not petty, IMO. It is OPs water, which she purchased. Mb and Db know damn well they didn't buy it. The least they can do is replace it or give OP money for it. How would they feel if OP ate or drank the last of their food? It is just common courtesy and these parents seem selfish and entitled.

This has me giggling because it just happened to me and my sparkling water! I'd ask about it casually, but I share food with my NF pretty liberally so it doesn't bother me if something of mine gets consumed occasionally.

As you are too cheap to feed your nanny then you should purchase a small refrigerator that is for her use only and advise your pig husband not to eat/drink anything from this refrigerator.
