All of our APs have friended me. I have no problem accepting.
Unlike a PP, I most certainly do not treat our relationship like an employee /employer. I don't accept friend requests from my actual employees. I treat her like I'd treat a niece, not like a daughter. Employee is too cold, treating her like a child of mine would be too overbearing. |
| Being friends on Facebook is a great way to share pictures together. If she doesn't want to see something, she will block you. If you don't want her to see something, block her. In this day and age no one should be concerned about overposting/sharing because it can all be controlled. |

Au pairs these days don't use Facebook like they used to. They use Snap chat and Instagram much more.
As a HM of 6 au pairs I have been FB friends with all of them, mostly starting before they arrive/during matching, so we both can check eacheck other out / see pictures. |
Same here. They always friend me on their last day, which is what I prefer. I don't need to know every aspect of their lives. |

First time host mom and we friended the AP once we matched. We chatted through email for weeks adn she was talking about her family and a recent trip and mentioned pics on Facebook. I said i would love to see them and we became Facebook friends.
i don't stalk her and am not sure how she has us listed (aquaintence?) but is see occasional posts from her. She knows how to block and use privacy settings. I don't tag her in stuff and she doesn't tag me. She does 'like' photos i put up of our vacation and the kids but i tend to only share that stuff with family adn close friends. I think it depends on your relationship with the AP. Like i said, we matched 2 months early adn chatted through email daily so by the time we became FB friends, we were on good terms and felt comfortable with each other. |
