First OP, a nanny contract is impossible to withheld in any court of law in our country. A judge cannot order you to work a few weeks nor can he order you to pay anyone.

Let's say things did actually get that far.
Then you could argue about how the family didn't hold up their end by creating a hostile work environment thus making any "contract" completely null and void.

You should quit. That is what employment at will is all about. They can fire you on the spot and you can quit on the spot. I don't even include notice requirements in my contracts since each situation has ended differently.
