he eats more then posted. I just posted our sleeping schedule. He has solids three times a day and four bottles. |
Yep, it's a troll. And one pretty clueless about infants as well. I hate having my time wasted... |
It is true actually. The parents believe whatever they are eating should be put in food processor and given to baby also. The doctor stated the baby can have everything but honey and whole milk. |
I wouldn't have believed this either had this been two years ago. I wouldn't ever think that a family would feed a 6 month old tacos. Then I worked for a family who fed their babies everything they ate. A 6 month old eating sausage, peppers and onions. Spicy food. A whole mess of things that would mess with Any adults stomach! Then they wondered why their kid was having blowouts multiple times a day. Gee- I wonder why? It's truly amazing to me how things that seem like common sense to most are NOT common sense to others. OP I don't think you're a troll. I've been there as far as the feeding goes. |
America is the exception, rather than the rule, regarding how we feed our infants. In most of the world babies eat whatever adults eat in smaller pieces. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way these people are choosing to feed their children. Though I'd assume you would be judging them no matter what so this is probably falling on deaf ears. |
What's wrong with a baby eating tacos? Ground beef, cheese, avocado, taco shells to gnaw on. |
The issue is that some of these parents don't tone down the spices, so babies have massive blowouts and can't sleep. |
This is called Baby Led Weaning. It's a pretty common practice and when done properly it is safe for babies. Our pediatrician signed off on it and thought it was wonderful that our DC ate everything - and still does (also I am Indian so, yes, DC was eating Indian food quite early on). You have to watch for reactions and too much salt and sugar, of course, but there is nothing wrong per se with feeding the baby what you eat. |
Thank you for everyone that confirmed I'm not a troll! I'm not judging the parents for trying this. I do think they should see what their baby reacts to though. If he's having massive blow outs because spicy food then maybe that's not the best idea for him! |
