If you both have already discussed the bonus plus the amount, then leave it up to your Nanny to decide.
She may want to take advantage of all the Black Friday sales going on to get a jump on her Christmas shopping. |
The more you'd like her to stay on, the bigger it is. Consider it an investment in your child's stability of care. |
OP here...I'm giving her $500 which is a little more than a week's pay (she is part time). I'm debating whether to give it to her on 12/16 or 12/23 (she works Mon-Wed). I feel like if I give it to her on 12/16 she will feel obligated to reciprocate as PP mentioned, but giving it to her 12/23 would allow her no time to use it for Christmas shopping if she so chooses. |
In that case, 12/16. Very thoughtful of you. Happy Holidays! |
12/21. She'll have time to use it if she wants, but not enough time to feel like she has a reciprocate. |
What exactly are you worried about? Sorry if you have a personal budgeting issue. |
This. |
Me too.k |
I get mine mid-December and appreciate that. Why not? |
I always get mine at the end me of the day on my last day before I go on Christmas vacation. That's when I give the kids the gifts I got them as well. |
What are you concerned about, op? |
For those who are wondering what the nanny would prefer, it's best to simply ask her.
Seriously, I can't imagine anyone upset because you gave them a bonus too early, can you? |
+1. We don't want the nanny to use it to get us presents but spend it on themselves. |
Agree. |
As a nanny, I budget everything and I have a certain amount set aside for Christmas but if I got a bonus I would spend a little more on the holidays than I otherwise could. |
