If school is let out at 3:15, your nanny is likely there a few minutes before waiting. Unless you want her rolling up to the school at 3:15, trying to find parking, etc. and then potentially not getting to your kids until 3:20-25, start their pay at 3:00. You are already doing it so what's the issue? Are you really feeling cheated paying someone for a whopping MAYBE 10 non-working minutes a day?

This is one of those issues where bringing it up is going to cost you a lot of goodwill. I know that if my hours were docked (for no real reason) months/years into my tenure I would no longer be helping out by showing up early/staying late when asked.

I would do at least 3pm. My current bosses pay me half an hour before their kids get out of school, and their house is only a 5-min drive from the school.

Agree. You don't want to nickel and dime the nanny, OP.

3pm. If she has to park the car to pick up, and then walk to the campus, then her start time isn't really 3:15.

I also agree that you don't want to nickel and dime your nanny if you want to keep her.

I'm in the exact same situation (DCPS 3:15 pick-up) and pay starting at 3:00 pm.

I want her early not late.
