Nanny "power" nap

Get a life, PP, and stop reading into everyone's post to arrive at the worst possible conclusion about the nanny.

No nanny has stated that the NEED a nap. They are saying they perform better when they have one. All employees are guaranteed a twenty minute break after five hours of continuous work and a nanny cannot leave her charge for her break. What the fuck do you care what a nanny chooses to do with that time?

I heartily approve of our nanny getting in a power nap when the kids are asleep - DH and I do on weekends and we both are better for it. But as a PP noted - keep it under 20 minutes or you do feel worse, not better, when you get up.

Quoted MB here. Please, DH and I both work tiring jobs. There are many days we look at the clock because we just want to get home and relax. I stayed Home with DS for the first year and a half of his life and there were days that I couldn't wait til DH got home. That certainly didn't make me a terrible mom. His nanny has not once acted like a cranky, whiny baby on Days she doesn't nap but I'm a firm believer that people in all professions would be more productive if they were able to take a recharging power nap during the day. And I believe that That's the reasoning Google and other companies use
