This job and my apartment are both in Beverly Hills. We can walk anywhere including classes (library story time, music together, parent and me, zimmer museum) so I'm not worried. Any place else we may want to go when he is older, I can use on of their cars.

They won't move for the next two years and neither will I. I always ask for a review and a raise every year.

I really want this job and I really want to walk two blocks to work and NOT spend hours in traffic so I quoted them $18 an hour and they accepted.

Again, thanks guys.

Awesome. Good for you! A two block commute would mean an unbelievable amount to me - what a fabulous benefit.

How on earth is that relevant or any of your business?

OP found a job she likes, with a 2 block commute and a salary she was comfortable with - that's pretty freaking great. Yay for her!

Yes, practically unheard-of in LA. I had a comparable experience when I worked for a university and it was amazing to not have the stress of a car commute every day. I was able to save money on all my auto expenses, including cutting my insurance due to the extremely low mileage. I even lost weight from the daily roundtrip walk, which was pleasant due to the surrounding neighborhood.
