| I also wear basically the same outfit every day so clearly I don't think it's weird. Although sometimes I do feel like a cartoon character! |
| I also have a 'uniform' consisting of several plaid-like shirts that I wear over plain tshirts and jeans that I alternate during the week. Don't really see anything wrong with it. Office folk usually have a couple of work outfits as well, so I don't really see why anyone needs to change it up all the time as if we were on the red carpet. |

Well as long as the colors are different than I am sure it is fine. Your bosses probably have already figured out that you are dressing more for comfort than for style now anyway.
The reason I mentioned the colors being different is so at least they know you actually change your clothes from day to day. Ha! |

I'm curious, why do so many people have things against yoga pants?
I wear them to work and I find that if I wear jeans I'm just uncomfortable all day and it reflects on how I play with the kids as its restrictive. My MB actually suggested yoga pants - or similar- when I first got the job because she understood the need to be comfortable and not care about getting dirty while with her kids! I don't see anything wrong with them or your outfit repeats OP

Einstein had seven identical jackets, seven pairs of identical pants and seven identical shirts so he would never have to waste time thinking about what to wear. I think you and he are on to something.
I also wear expensive yoga pants, OP. They are Spanx (about $100) and do my bum a great service! |
| If you are a nanny and buying 4 pairs of $100 yoga pants I guess we can see why nannies usually live paycheck to paycheck. |
OP here - I don't live paycheck to paycheck. But thank you for your concern. |
| In 15 years as a nanny the only time I've worn anything besides jeans or khakis is when I'm a night nanny then I wear yoga pants. I find it tacky to wear yoga pants during the day and makes nannies look unprofessional especially when you go out with the kids. |
MB here and I own a pair of Spanx yoga pants and they are much nicer looking than jeans or khakis and stay wrinkle-free and do not bag. It all depends on the yoga pants. |
They look like yoga pants being pricey doesn't change that. Another nanny that agrees they look unprofessional for anything other than a yoga instructor, the gym, or lounging around your own house. If OP's MB doesn't care that's great for her. I would not recommend to a nanny , especially one starting out, to wear yoga pants no matter how pricey they are on the job. Just to clarify I realize OP might not be a new nanny. |
| This is not a regular job though. This job requires us to get down and dirty. Just think about it, nurses wear scrubs because they are appropriate, not a suit. They get dirty as well. Are they considered unprofessional? I live in the city of Chicago and it is widely accepted to be able to wear yoga pants as a nanny. Im not messing up my nice jeans with stains, art supplies, and body fluids! |
Well eventually your parents will ask you to move out and then what will you do? |
| I hate when my nanny wears yoga pants. She is very fit and petite and I've caught my DH checking her out when she wears them. I agree she has a nice butt, but I don't want my husband getting a eye full every morning. She is fabulous so I will not bring the yoga pants and live with it. |
Here is the bitter troll that wants to be a nanny so badly. What possess you to sit on a forum all day? Clearly you either live paycheck to paycheck or in your moms basement. It would make sense why you are on here 24/7. I'm a nanny who lives on my own. I pay my rent, bills, and tuition, and I don't live paycheck to paycheck. Please go away. You make yourself look bad. |
I can get down and dirty in jeans and a nice shirt. I have work clothes that if they get dirty or ruined so be it. Nobody is saying you need to wear a suit. Scrubs actually look more presentable than yoga pants. If your doctor or nurse wore yoga pants would you take them seriously? |
