Seriously OP? Please re-read what you wrote and try to tell yourself you are anything but a self involved ass. Your nanny is lucky to be rid of you. |
+1 You're a wicked person, op. Don't tell us how many nannies your poor kid has already had. |
| Wow, jump on me for poor choice of words. She's the first. Calm down. |
|
Last week things blew up with her, and this week you are giving her her walking papers.
And on top of that she is not feeling so hot. If I were in your shoes OP, I wouldn't want someone in her shoes watching my child. I just wouldn't for many reasons. Just let her go now and look for a new nanny for the new year. It would be so uncomfortable now having her back and I wouldn't want her to be in the company of my child because who knows how many mixed feelings she may inside. |
Well aren't you special! You must have magical powers because how in the world can you be sure you hire someone who doesn't get sick. So stupid. |
|
MB here and I wouldn't have her come back. If things were bad enough that you decided to fire her then you want to be done with it cleanly. I would never leave my children in the care of someone after having fired them. Whether or not I trusted her at some point I have now fired her so I would expect some level of ill will and I don't want my child in the middle of that.
Tell her you're sorry but you don't think it's a good idea. (The strep actually gives you a nice easy out for that.) Mail her or direct deposit any monies and severance and change your locks. Move on cleanly - it's the best way. A |
| Thank you. Her direct deposit has already gone through so there is no outstanding money or the like. I feel like I should let her say goodbye but I do think that would be worse him DC and that's where my allegiance needs to lie. |
| If your DC isn't old enough to ask about her, then don't let her come back and use the illness as an excuse. The goodbye/closure would be far more crucial if this was an older child who could fully process the absence of the nanny. |
| Ok, thanks. I almost wish we could use her as a back up sitter - she is good with him but just does not reliably show up. Not ok for a nanny, but probably wouldn't be an issue for date nights. |
You are very sick people, you don't have any respect for your poor nanny,I can't believe exist people like you on this planet...?? |
You think I should have let her work with strep throat? You do realize that letting her go was planned prior to her getting sick, correct? |
Just make it a clean break OP. YOu can find other backup sitters. You have fired her - you don't want her back in your house. Keep it clean. |
| Clean break was the right call. She's now badgering me to come back Friday for her W-2. No! |
