Hey, nannies, ask for an additional $5-10 an hour. You'll be out of a job.

Good thing some nannies do get appropriately compensated. Yay for them.

Is that all you got to double your workload? Lol.

Lord--- what did you get when an additional child was born? You just come on here and lampoon everyone else's answers, so let us know!
(MB here who is pregnant)

Look, if your current nanny's happy with a dollar increase, you've got it made. No worries.

On the other hand, if you have to get a new nanny along with your new baby, that could be a hard situation for your first child. You decide. But I must say, you shouldn't be stressing out on this forum during your pregnancy. Put your feet up and relax, or take a good walk when the ice is gone. Think happy thoughts and you'll have a happier baby. Congratulations to you.

I am not the op. My nanny's not the point. I asked a simple question -- what kind of raise did you get?

Not debating, but as a nanny with 8yrs exp. I charge $2-3 more for an additional baby.

There are parents out there who respect a nanny who understands the high value of her work.

I am currently paid $750/week (before taxes) for 2 children; if they were to have another child I would expect a raise to somewhere around $800/week.

Ten dollars a days sounds incredibly modest. Bless you.

Yes, well unfortunately, around here (Chicago) nannies don't make much more than that, no matter the size of the family (except for the few extremely affluent families who will pay $1000-1200/week). So, if I were to ask for more I would most likely be out of a job. Just how it is.
