I'm not, but believe what you will. You're a faceless internet scrub, so it doesn't really matter. |
Excuse me? Maybe with YOUR cooking skills. You cook chicken in the microwave? That's disgusting. I've never given anyone food poisoning thank.you.very.much. |
+1 As it should be. Employees do not give gifts to Employers at Christmas. |
| For my first Christmas with my NF, I gave them a picture of the kids that I took of them all dressed up with some Christmas lights around them and framed it. I also gave them some homemade Oreo truffle balls and they RAVED about them for weeks. I know they appreciated the picture but it ended up in the playroom on a shelf so last Christmas, I ended up just giving them a big tin of the truffle balls again and they were SO excited. DB even said that he had been hoping I was going to make them for them again!! So this year, I'm doing the same thing. Sometimes, something as simple as a home baked treat is enough! |

MY NF doesn't like clutter and are fairly minimalistic, so I usually do something photo based for the parents, and books for the kids. There's several kids and they're all on the older side, so it's fun to involve them in brainstorming sessions. We did a recreation of MB's favorite painting, photo within photo, traditional album and a picture garland so far. I write a card to the parents as well.
Though this year I got them a measuring jug because theirs has been cracked since about June and I figured that's something they truly need. |
| PP whose MB tried to cash in your free babysitting coupon for an overnight, I remember your post from awhile back about that. If you're still with them, what did you get them this year? |
| Gifts go DOWN the chain of command. Emplayees do not give gift to employer. |
Stop posting on every fucking post saying this and also, learn to spell before you try and be a dumbass. |
|
Never EVER offer your bosses a coupon for free babysitting as a holiday gift, that is just a bad idea overall.
Would an employee offer his/her boss in any other profession a few free hours of labor just because it's Christmas....??! Didn't think so. I never give my bosses anything for Christmas. I believe in gifting down, not up. |
STOP US ING THE Fword |
| My employers have an Amazon wish list for their family in case they're stumped on what to get the children. I went there and ordered the kids some things. As a gift to them I went to a pottery place and had a menorah made from their hand prints and prints. They seem to Like it. |
I am still with them actually. They're great bosses generally, just the kind who will milk a deal if possible. I gave them a nice bottle of wine, and some homemade cookies, and some gifts for the children of course. |
Speak for yourself. It is a thoughtful and much-appreciated gift. |
Shame on them. Our nanny gives us a coupon every year and we never stay out more than 4 hours. It's our favorite gift because we have a child with substantial special needs and a night out alone is hard to come by. |
