DB told me to get more sleep RSS feed

he may have been facetious.

If you got enough rest you likely would not be tired mid afternoon. Most people are chronically sleep deprived.

Sorry but do you really think yawning in front of your boss is supposed to leave him with a good impression of you?

It makes you look bored and/or tired and comes across as rude. I think most people in the working world know this...just try to suppress it next time or make it quick and cover your mouth to be polite. Doesn't matter if you're a nanny or accountant or whatever, it's not professional and you try not to do it in front of your boss.

Your body is telling you it needs something and instead of working with your body you are just guzzling caffeine and whining online.

I'm perplexed now too.

The afternoon energy slump is a real thing that most people experience everyday.
This is the reason that so many businesses in Europe are closed in the afternoon. It gives their employees the opportunity to rest.
I provided a link...btw, why so grouchy?

Untrue. Most businesses are open in Europe, at least until 5pm. Postoffice close at 7pm.
Maybe they take a nap in the afternoon in Spain but it's part of their culture.
Spain is not Europe.
Stop making a generality out of one example.

Find a very nice way to tell him to eff himself. Seriously, O would discuss this with the MB because chances are excellent that he told her that he caught you sleeping, not yawning.

The kids are using this crazy new thing called Google. You should look into it! It's a way to search for any piece of information on the Internet.
Perhaps you should start there before making an idiot of yourself.

I don't need to google this because I work in an office with some 60 people and no one in yawning and falling asleep by 2:00 pm. If someone I knew were I would suggest they go to the doctor.

Interesting. I don't need google either because in my office of 40 people it's usually around 2:30 every single day that people are making coffee runs or closing the doors of their office to sneak naps/recharge.
It's a government legal office, just in case you want to throw in some excuse as to the type of office I'm in, or whatever you will use to discount my anecdote proving that no 2 offices are the same.

No yawning ever? It's a basic human function.

To be tired around 2pm is not unusual. It's actually biology. Studies have been done on it it's a good read, and does not automatically mean there is a health issue.

Sounds like your whole office has the same disease. I hope you guys get it figured out and get healthy soon.

PP is probably trying to imply by saying no yawning that OP should figure out her health issues so she isn't falling asleep at 2pm like my 95 year old grandmother.

I don't have any health issues. MOST people get tired around 2:30. I never fall asleep, nor do I come anywhere close to falling asleep.
Google 2:30 slump.

He never has, which is why I'm perplexed.

Now he has. My DH has said similar things, rarely, because he forgets that he is not in his office talking to one of his subordinates. Let it go. They know not what they say.
