Next time you won't say where you're going and everybody will be fine. The less you say to employers, the better.
Same for them with us nannies.

Well anyway, your boss is probably worried that you're looking to jump ship. I'm not a nanny but it also makes my boss nervous to see me talking to other people on her level from other offices - she wonders if I'm networking to jump ship or if I'm sort of socializing a level up to get promoted out from under her. Sounds like your boss is in the same social circle as your old family - they may have said something to her to make her nervous, like how much they miss you or something.


My former employer's moved hours away and that is the reason why my position ended. I am part of their famem ily and I am glad we developed a close relationship. My current employer has nothing to worry about though.

Maybe your boss is just a little jealous that you still have a relationship w/your previous family. Her reasoning? I have no idea.

Perhaps she may think that you like their children more, that they may offer you more money in the future to work for them, etc.

Who really knows?

I would just let it go and wouldn't stress over it.
